项目坐落在墨尔本的内湾，是对一栋原始维多利亚式别墅的修复和扩建工程，以满足需求上的活跃变化、不断增长的家庭成员，并为来了很多年的居住者提供灵活而又放松的空间。项目的工程包括了对原始历史建筑体量的修复工程，以及设计建造一栋两层楼的附加建筑体量，从而创造一个拥有多区域的家庭别墅。从审美上讲，新的建筑体量很精细的让家庭成员们回想起了在海滩上度过的假期。新的附加建筑体量被并入了原始的建筑体量中，这样设计的原因是为了减少街道上的可见性，使它对后花园和邻居们的影响降到最低的程度。

原始的房间被转变成了一个主卧区域，它被巧妙的安插在原始建筑体量和边界墙的中间。在一个雕刻般的、双高的空隙中设置了一个开放的书房区域和起重要作用的楼梯，于是这个空隙变成了连接新、旧两个建筑体量的一个过渡点。新的附加建筑体量以一个位于一楼的、大的、开敞布置的生活空间和位于一个二楼的、孩子们的区域为特色。我们设计了一个宽敞的生活和娱乐空间，以便于家具的灵活性安排，也是为了突出向后部阳台及花园敞开的全宽的滑动玻璃墙的特色。

This renovation and addition to an existing Victorian home in inner bayside Melbourne responds to the changing needs of an active, growing family and creates flexible and relaxed spaces for them to inhabit for many years to come. This project includes renovation to the existing historical building and the addition of a double storey extension to create a multi-zoned family home.A esthetically, the new building was to remind them subtly of family holidays to the beach. ?The new addition merges into the existing house to reduce visibility from the street and minimise its impact on the rear garden and neighbouring properties.

The existing rooms are transformed into a master bedroom area with new ensuite discreetly inserted between the existing building and boundary wall. An open study area and feature stair are set within a sculptural double height void which becomes a transition point between old and new.The new addition features a large open plan living space at ground level and a children’s zone on the firstfloor.A spacious living and entertaining space is designed to allow flexibility of furniture arrangement and features a full width sliding glass wall opening onto a rear terrace and garden. ?
